I love the way the emotion builds in tonight's song. When Neil Diamond does the confessional thing, I feel like he's speaking to and for me. I've got an emptiness deep inside, and I've tried, but it won't let me go... Wow. Simple words, and a fairly common feeling to have in the modern world, but he manages to convey it in a way that shakes you down to your core and rocks your soul.
